The humble Nokia 1100 is the best-selling phone of all time, with more than 250 million sold after its launch in late 2003. It was Nokia's cheapest phone when it came out, built for developing countries with a dust-resistant keypad and non-slip sides for humid weather. Its most loved feature was simple: a built-in flashlight, switched on by holding the C key. Nokia's one billionth phone was an 1100, bought in Nigeria in 2005. It was also the last Nokia model with monophonic ringtones, and it shipped with Snake II and Space Impact+. In 2009 it hit the news for a stranger reason, when a batch made in Bochum, Germany was reported to have a firmware flaw that could be abused to intercept other people's text messages, and some of those handsets reportedly sold for tens of thousands. Production finally ended in early 2010.
