Unveiled in London on 2 October 2008, the 5800 XpressMusic was Nokia's first mainstream touchscreen phone, arriving a year after the iPhone made touch the hot new thing. It was the first device to run S60 5th Edition, a touch version of Nokia's Symbian software. Its 3.2-inch 640x360 screen was the first 16:9 display on a mobile phone. It was code-named "Tube" and came with a stylus in the box. It sold 8 million units in its first year, Nokia's biggest smartphone hit since the N95. A prototype even had a cameo in The Dark Knight, in the hands of Morgan Freeman's Lucius Fox. It also turned up in music videos of the time, including Britney Spears's "Womanizer".
