Announced and released in 2002, the Motorola V70 (codenamed Hummingbird) was built around a circular face and a swivel body that rotates 180 degrees to open. Unlike most phones of its time, its surfaces were polished metal rather than plastic, with an aluminium back cover and metal buttons. The keypad glowed blue thanks to electroluminescent lighting, and the round 96x64 display showed white text on black. It was a dual-band GSM phone with GPRS and WAP, first released in China and other Asian markets in March 2002. Sales were reportedly lukewarm, but it is seen as a halo product for the later RAZR V3.
