Unveiled in February 2006 and on sale from the second quarter of that year, the W300i was the seventh phone in Sony Ericsson's Walkman series and a compact quad-band clamshell, 90 x 47 x 24 mm and 94 g. Closed, a small monochrome outer screen showed the essentials; opened, a 128 x 160 colour display took over. It had 20 MB of built-in memory plus a Memory Stick Micro slot for cards up to 2 GB, with a 256 MB card in the box. The Walkman player read MP3 and MP4 tracks and sorted them by artist, album and song from their tags, while the bundled Disc2Phone software converted other formats such as WMA. A VGA camera, FM radio and EDGE data rounded it off. It came in Shimmering White and Shadow Black.
