Announced in February 2006 alongside the K800 and W300, the K310 was a simple camera bar phone that Sony Ericsson called “the pocket picture album”. It followed the K300 from late 2004 with a VGA camera that also recorded video, 15 MB of built-in memory with no card slot, and a 1.74-inch 128 x 160 Ultra Bright Colour display with 65K colours. Photos could be browsed as thumbnails and shared by MMS or infrared, and Sony Ericsson made a point of features uncommon at its price, such as a face-warp effect, push e-mail, an MP3 player and 3D games. It came in Misty Silver and Shadow Blue, weighed 82 g, and its Style-Up covers let owners change its look. The K310a version covered the 850 MHz band for the Americas.
The W300i was the seventh phone in Sony Ericsson's Walkman series, and the one that folded the music player into a pocket-sized clamshell.
