Codenamed “Clara” during development, the K750i arrived in June 2005 as Sony Ericsson's top camera phone. It kept the “dual-front” idea the company had used since the T610: the back was styled like a digital camera and meant to be held sideways, here with a 2-megapixel autofocus camera. The 176 x 220 screen showed 262,144 colours, a 64 MB Memory Stick PRO Duo came in the box, and the RDS FM radio used the headset cable as its antenna, with Mega Bass for music. It weighed 99 g. Because the K750i and the Walkman W800i were built on essentially the same hardware, enthusiasts learned to flash W800 firmware onto the K750i and turn it into an unofficial Walkman phone. The K800i took over in 2006.
The first Walkman phone was popular enough to be copied: a Chinese “Music Mobile W800c” even had a mirrored Walkman logo.
